As the countdown to Design Show Australia 2026 begins, we’re spotlighting exhibitor Plant Image. Leveraging over 40 years of industrial expertise in high-end wood and composite coatings, Hsienpo Paint has launched CYMO, a water-based brand that brings professional-grade performance and sustainability to the consumer home market. Read on to discover their current design trends, and what you can expect to find at their stand.
Can you give us a brief introduction to your brand?
Hsienpo Paint has been deeply rooted in the wood coating industry for over 40 years. Historically, we have focused on the professional B2B market, providing world-renowned furniture brands, manufacturers, and major distributors with high-end coating solutions, including NC, PU, and UV systems. Over the past decades, we have established a profound technical foundation in chemical coating R&D, as well as applications for carbon fiber and composite materials. These rigorous industrial requirements ensure that every coating system produced by Hsienpo delivers exceptional stability, adhesion, and surface protection. Having long served as the technical backbone for international giants, Hsienpo has always played a role in empowering the success of others. Today, in response to the global rise of sustainability and health-conscious living, we have distilled our 40 years of material science expertise to officially launch our eco-friendly, water-based brand — CYMO. The birth of CYMO is a natural extension of Hsienpo’s technical mastery. By applying high-performance industrial standards to water-based coatings designed for home environments, we invite the public to experience the professional depth and expertise of Hsienpo through CYMO.

What differentiates your brand from other competitors in the market?
Our core differentiator is our "All-in-One" technology. While the traditional Australian coating process often involves a tedious 4-5 step cycle of staining, sealing, and multiple topcoats, CYMO skips the cycle entirely. We empower both professionals and DIY enthusiasts to achieve professional-grade color and protection in half the time. Furthermore, our products are UL GREENGUARD Gold certified, ensuring they meet the world’s most stringent standards for low chemical emissions.

Are there any exciting trends that you are seeing in the world of design this year?
We are seeing a significant shift towards “Eco-Minimalism” and “Biophilic Design”. Designers and homeowners are no longer just looking for aesthetic beauty; they are prioritizing indoor air quality and materials that are non-toxic and low-VOC. There is also a growing demand for products that simplify the maintenance of timber without masking its natural grain and texture, allowing the organic beauty of the wood to take center stage.
What can our visitors expect to see and experience on your stand at Design Show Australia?
Visitors can experience the “Power of One” firsthand through live demonstrations of our WoodArmor™ and WoodNourish™ series. WoodArmor™ is our flagship exterior coating designed for the harsh Australian outdoors, offering UV protection and water repellency in one step. We will also be showcasing how our water-based technology achieves a beautiful finish without the odors associated with traditional coatings.
What are you looking forward to the most at Design Show Australia 2026?
We are most excited about connecting with Australia’s vibrant design community and finding strategic partners who share our vision for a more efficient and sustainable future. We look forward to hearing from local designers about their challenges and showing them how CYMO’s expertise can help simplify their workflow while elevating their projects.
