Nidus Project Range

Meet the Brand: Davcor Group

As the countdown to Design Show Australia 2026 begins, we’re spotlighting exhibitor Davcor Group. They deliver a premium range of architectural door and cabinet hardware that blends high-end international and local design with the robust security expertise and national support of the Davcor Group. Read on to discover their current design trends, and what you can expect to find at their stand.

Can you give us a brief introduction to your brand?

Nidus by Carbine sits at the intersection of architectural design and dependable engineering. We offer a considered range of premium door and cabinet hardware, from internationally sourced collections like Manital and Mardeco, through to our own ranges such as Mediterranean and Venetian, alongside Australian-made OZI Locks and a dedicated Project Series for residential developments.

Since bringing Nidus under the Carbine brand, we’ve been able to combine strong design credentials with the backing of Davcor Group’s national network and long-standing expertise in security.

As GM for Nidus, Cameron Lord puts it, “It’s about bringing together design people want to specify with the support they need once it’s on site. In short, it is well-designed hardware, backed by people who understand how it performs in the real world.”

What differentiates your brand from other competitors in the market?

We sit in a fairly unique position, design-led, but backed by genuine security experience.

“We’re that rare brand, design-led on the surface, with decades of security expertise behind it,” says Cameron.

Firstly, it’s the breadth of the range. We cover everything from front door entry through to internal hardware and cabinetry, which allows designers to maintain a consistent look and feel across an entire project without juggling multiple suppliers.

Secondly, performance matters just as much as appearance. Our Venetian range uses 304-grade stainless steel, and our OZI mortice locks are engineered and assembled in Australia to suit local conditions. Every product benefit from Carbine’s security heritage.

And finally, it’s the support behind it. Through Davcor Group, we have a national presence across Australia and New Zealand. That means specifiers aren’t just choosing a product,  they’re choosing a partner who can support the project from specification through to installation and beyond.

Are there any exciting trends that you are seeing in the world of design this year?

One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing is hardware being treated more like jewellery for the home. Clients expect the same level of detail, tactility and finish on a door handle as they would on tapware or cabinetry,  which is exactly where ranges like Manital and Mardeco come into play.

There’s also a strong move towards whole-of-home consistency. Designers are increasingly specifying one finish or family of finishes right through a project, from the front door to internal doors, wardrobes and even sliding door hardware.

At the same time, there’s a growing appreciation for combining strong design with local reliability. As Cameron puts it, “Clients want something that looks exceptional, but they also want to know it’s going to perform and be supported locally.”

What can our visitors expect to see and experience on your stand at Design Show Australia?

The big thing for us is giving people the chance to experience the hardware properly. It’s one thing to see it in a catalogue, it’s also another to feel it in your hand, which is often what drives the final decision.

We’ll be showcasing the full Nidus by Carbine range, including Manital and Mardeco, alongside our Mediterranean and Venetian collections, Australian-made OZI Locks, and our Project Series (Lonsdale, Spring and Collins), which is designed specifically for residential developments.

Our specification team will be on hand across all three days to talk through finishes, applications and how the range can be applied across different project types.

What are you looking forward to the most at Design Show Australia?

For us, it’s the conversations. Design & Build Week brings together architects, designers, builders and developers in one place, which doesn’t happen all that often.

Hardware is often something that gets considered late in a project, so having those face-to-face discussions early can make a real difference. It gives us the chance to help solve challenges on the spot and better understand what people are looking for in the next generation of architectural hardware.

“It’s one of the few opportunities to get everyone in the same room and talk through real projects,” Cameron says.

The public day is always interesting as well. Homeowners are more design-aware than ever, and that’s pushing the whole industry forward.
