What can our visitors expect to see and experience on your stand at Design Show Australia?

Visitors to our stand at Design Show Australia can expect a vibrant celebration of iconic Australian design. Our stand will showcase reissued pieces from the 1960s and 70s, demonstrating their timeless appeal and seamless integration into contemporary styles of 2024 and beyond. The stand is curated to highlight the bold colors and vibrancy of these iconic pieces, inviting visitors to explore the possibilities of classic design in modern settings.

Our stand was designed and curated by internationally renowned Interior Designer Adrian Cordina: "The concept and vision for the stand were inspired by the iconic pieces that TH Brown launched into the Australian market in the 1970s and their presentation in archival imagery and catalogs. I drew inspiration from this era, focusing on the unique fabrics they were upholstered in. By finding similar color tones, patterns, and textures, I aimed to create a relevant contemporary direction in today’s market."

Are there any exciting trends that you are seeing in the world of design this year?

We are thrilled to see a resurgence of curves and a celebration of color and rich tones in the world of design this year. These trends bring a sense of warmth and personality to modern interiors, aligning perfectly with our philosophy of blending classic design with contemporary elements.

Could you highlight any recent collaborations or projects that have been particularly impactful for your brand?

Our Design Show stand is a collaboration of many talented parties. Internationally recognized interior designer Adrian Cordina curated the stand and range, drawing inspiration from the iconic pieces TH Brown launched in the 1970s and presenting them with contemporary fabrics and textures relevant to today's market. We worked with Workspace Commercial Furniture, Warwick Fabrics, Goodearl and Bailey, and Godfrey Hirst to bring this vision to life. This showcase brings our brand and pieces to life, demonstrating the real possibilities of the TH Brown range.

Are there any product launches we can expect to see at Design Show Australia this June?

We are excited to unveil our reissued dining chairs, the Milan and Rex (also known as the Stacker). Here's some background on these pieces:

  • Milan: Designed by Peter F Brown in the early 1960s as a classically designed Scandinavian dining chair, it offers clean minimalistic looks and features new post-war materials and manufacturing techniques. The spade back is perfectly contoured for comfort, and the legs have a distinctive triangular shape that nestles into the raked seat, with upholstery piped around the top for a gorgeous effect. This design remains a timeless classic suitable for any contemporary Mid-Century Modern aesthetic.
  • Rex: Also designed by Peter F Brown in the early 1960s, the Rex Chair is a clever interpretation of the "Jetsons" or "Googie" design theme from the USA. It reflects the mid-century fascination with the jet and space ages, combining practicality with a sense of speed and comfort. The Rex Stacker chair is a perfect embodiment of this era's design ethos.

These dining chairs will be available for pre-order on our website during the Design Show, with delivery starting in late July.
