FUTURE re MADE is dedicated to sustainability and innovation, crafting ethical furniture including tables, sideboards, benches, and custom designs. Driven by form and function, it offers modular, interlocking pieces that flatpack without bolts, screws, or glue. Carefully considered, slow made, with minimal environmental impact, Melbourne made from recycled HDPE plastic.
FUTURE re MADE presents “parque,” a park bench transformation commissioned by the National Trust Australia (Victoria). Using original wrought iron legs from the Trust’s collection, the piece reimagines heritage through bold contemporary design and projection—where past craftsmanship meets imagination, bringing history vividly into the present.
Director & Designer, Polly Cadden has created a sustainable designer solution, bringing the park bench back to life using signature recycled plastics—transforming discarded waste into modern treasure. By combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative material reuse, the piece moves beyond preservation into active reinterpretation.
“Parque” invites viewers to reconsider the lifecycle of materials and the narratives within them. The familiarity of the park bench is reimagined as a sculptural object where function meets storytelling. In this example of past meets present, FUTURE re MADE demonstrates how thoughtful design can honour heritage while projecting it into a new, contemporary future.
