Distortion

Ivan is a fourth year Industrial Design Honours student exploring how abstract scientific ideas can be translated into physical objects. His work focuses on restrained forms, material experimentation, and using light and space to evoke calm, curiosity, and quiet tension.
Distortion reimagines black-hole physics as lighting design. Layered metal rings and sculpted aluminium nets bend and filter light, producing subtle distortions and atmospheric shadows that reveal the beauty of gravitational phenomena.
