Glacial Fade

Karen Zhang is a third year university student studying a Bachelor of Design, specialising in Graphics and Objects. Her works explores materiality, transformation and fragility through conceptual design.

Glacial fade explores the fragile relationship between rising ocean temperatures that impact the melting of Arctic polar ice. Inspired by the time-lapse of glaciers melting, the lighting installation uses geometric and abstract forms to represent the structures that occurs as the fluidity ice shifts.
