Hundreds of New Zealand designers are set to head across the ditch, as Australia’s Kitchen+Bath Show partners with the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association of New Zealand (NKBA) to encourage greater knowledge sharing and business opportunities between the two countries.

A first for the Kitchen+Bath Show, the partnership between a New Zealand membership organisation and Australia’s premier trade event, will ensure richer collaboration and a greater exchange of ideas between the Australasian design communities.

It will also connect the large contingency of visiting kitchen and bathroom designers of New Zealand to the more than 12,000 trade professionals in attendance and the impressive array of Australian and global brands exhibiting at the show.

The Kitchen+Bath Show is being held 12-14 June at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Visitors will be able to discover the best global kitchen and bath brands, the latest trends and new products that are pushing the boundaries of design, technology and innovation. Brands include Blum, Knauf, Hafele, Nood Co, Polytec, Lofra, Porcelanosa, Kawajun, Nero Tapware, Planit, Blue Sanitary Ware and many more. Rachael Kwok, Executive Officer of the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association of New Zealand, says the collaboration is perfectly timed to maximise learning and networking opportunities for members of NKBA.

“NKBA are heading to Melbourne for our annual conference on 11-12 June. The Kitchen+Bath Show is always a highlight on the design calendar, so it was the perfect opportunity to explore how NKBA could work with the show to ensure our designers are exposed to this incredible trade exhibition experience, alongside collaborating with the show to create connections with our Aussie counterparts.”

New Zealand and Australian designers have a very similar approach to design and are at the forefront of global design trends. Greater opportunities to collaborate and sharing of ideas will drive our designers to higher places on the world stage. With greater connection, we can expect to see further innovation and creativity from Australian and New Zealand designers in the future,” shares Kwok.

As part of the collaboration, the NKBA will join members of The Kitchen and Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDi) for some lively on-stage panel discussions. The lineup will add great value to the Kitchen+Bath Show’s dynamic and diverse speaker program and educational content, providing key opportunities to network and learn from leading New Zealand and Australian designers. Events will be included in the show agenda.

Andrew Vaughan, Portfolio Director for Kitchen+Bath Show and Design Show Australia, is enthusiastic about the partnership and what it will mean for the future of New Zealand and Australian design.

“I am very excited that the Kitchen+Bath Show and NKBA are partnering for the upcoming event this June in Melbourne. I know it’s the start of an exciting long-term collaboration that will bring great benefits for both organisations, and most importantly for the Australian and New Zealand design communities”, he said.
