As the countdown to Design Show Australia 2026 begins, we’re spotlighting exhibitor Sabiha tiles. Sabiha Tiles handcrafted cement tiles are designed and made in Australia using traditional methods, drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean to bring “beautiful” artisanal floors to life. Can you give us a brief introduction to your brand?
At Sabiha Tiles, we design and produce encaustic cement tiles using traditional methods right here in Australia. Our brand was born out of a love for colourful floors created by these tiles in the Mediterranean. In Maltese, ‘Sabiha’ means ‘beautiful’, and we carry this meaning throughout our artisanal design and handmade manufacturing process.
What differentiates your brand from other competitors in the market?
We are the only manufacturers of encaustic cement tiles in Australia! We can custom design the pattern and colours to suit any project and our leads times are much shorter than imported alternatives. Our hand-made tiles are highly durable and suitable for internal and external spaces. They develop a patina over time, creating character and depth machine-made tiles simply cannot replicate.
Are there any exciting trends that you are seeing in the world of design this year?
The world is embracing colour and individualism again and we are so happy about this! From colour-drenching to bold patterns and colour pairings, we love how colourful and bespoke spaces are becoming again. We use natural pigment oxides to colour our tiles, and these vibrant colours can add so much personality to a space.
What can our visitors expect to see and experience on your stand at Design Show Australia?
This is in some way a whole launch for our brand. As we are relatively new to the industry, we are super excited to share our products with visitors and would love to collaborate with anyone who loves colour or has a design or style in mind for their next project! We will have lots of sample tiles to see and feel. We will also have sample boxes available and a 10% discount on orders made through networking at the Design Show.
What are you looking forward to the most at Design Show Australia 2026?
We are super excited to kick start our involvement in the industry – meeting other vendors and potential clients and sharing our unique and vibrant tiles to all visitors! Apart from this we are excited to see the up-and-coming trends, the timeless styles people are loving and of course meeting designers and collaborating with people who want bespoke tiles in their next project!
